Mauritius

Mauritius is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean, off the southeastern coast of Africa. It is known for its beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and tropical climate. The capital city is Port Louis. Mauritius was originally uninhabited until it was colonized by the Dutch in the 17th century, followed by the French and then the British. It gained independence from Britain in 1968 and has since become a democratic republic within the Commonwealth of Nations.
