Delta Air Lines is enhancing its flight offerings to Italy ahead of the summer season, with a focus on increasing accessibility to Venice.

Starting at the end of this month, Delta will resume nonstop service between New York’s JFK International Airport and Venice Marco Polo Airport. Operated by a Boeing 767-300 aircraft, equipped with Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seats, this seasonal route will initially operate daily until the end of October, after which it will transition to a 5x/weekly schedule.

Matteo Curcio, Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, highlighted the significance of Venice as a popular destination among U.S. travelers. He stated, “Venice is hugely popular with U.S. travelers, and our flights bring valuable tourism and trade opportunities to the city and the region as well as unrivaled opportunities for Venetians looking to explore destinations across the Americas.”

This expansion aligns with Delta’s broader strategy of bolstering its transatlantic network for Summer 2024, with a particular focus on Italy. The airline plans to operate nonstop routes to four Italian cities: Milan, Naples, Rome, and Venice. Leveraging its partnerships with European carriers Air France and Virgin Atlantic, Delta aims to facilitate seamless connections for travelers from various global destinations to Italy.

Travelers flying in premium cabins can anticipate the opening of Delta’s newest airport lounge at New York’s JFK hub in Terminal 4 in the coming months. Spanning nearly 40,000 square feet, the lounge will feature a year-round outdoor terrace and a chef’s kitchen, among other premium amenities, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.
