by Alice

Virgin Atlantic has announced increased flight frequencies between the United States and the United Kingdom, facilitating smoother travel options for passengers during the upcoming summer season. The airline plans to enhance its services by adding more flights connecting major U.S. hubs to London.

For the summer of 2024, Virgin Atlantic is set to introduce a seventh daily flight between London and New York City, marking a record number of flights operated by the airline on this route. Additionally, the airline will include a second daily flight between London and Boston, providing travelers with increased options for transatlantic travel.

These flights will utilize Virgin Atlantic’s A350-1000 and A330-900neo aircraft, equipped with the carrier’s Retreat Suite, featuring luxurious lie-flat seats and fully closing doors for passenger comfort.

Juha Jarvinen, the chief commercial officer of Virgin Atlantic, highlighted the significance of these additions, stating, “With Boston and New York, JFK being key business and leisure travel routes, customers can rely on Virgin Atlantic to connect them to these popular destinations as we offer more opportunities to travel with our expanded offering. By utilizing our brand new A350 and A339 aircraft, our passengers can travel in style with Virgin Atlantic, as we commit to operating the routes that our customers love to fly.”

In addition to the augmented services, Virgin Atlantic will ramp up its operations to Miami, increasing the weekly flights from 11 to twice daily. Moreover, a seasonal summer flight from Manchester to Las Vegas will be introduced. Overall, the airline will offer an average of 27 daily departures to various U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington D.C.

Virgin Atlantic recently joined the SkyTeam Alliance network earlier this year, forging ties with Delta Air Lines. This partnership ensures customers enjoy consistent perks and benefits across both airlines.

Furthermore, Virgin Atlantic has taken steps to enhance passenger experiences, particularly for individuals with visual impairments accompanied by seeing-eye dogs. The airline has trained its cabin crew on effectively assisting passengers with sight loss, including navigating narrow spaces and stairs, and ensuring their comfortable seating arrangements.
