The Disney Parks restaurant reservation system just got a little more seamless.
Guests will soon be able to view any available reservation time slot for their desired date of visit, rather than meal time (brunch, lunch or dinner). In addition, for those who want to explore all restaurants, guests will be able to search by meal time and see every available time slot at all available restaurants across the property.
As part of the update to the reservation system, guests will also be able to see more clearly which meals are served at what time of day, which will have an impact on prices and experience. For example, locations that operate as character dining for some meals only, such as Topolino’s Terrace – Flavours of the Riviera Breakfast a la Cart with Mickey & Friends, will be clearly marked.
The new system will also help guests budget for their meals, as prices can vary from breakfast to lunch and dinner.
The cancellation system will be updated for guests with existing reservations. Most dining venues will allow guests to cancel up to two hours before their meal to avoid a penalty fee, rather than 24 hours. Currently, diners who cancel after this time are charged $10 per person at most locations. Most locations previously operated a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. The 2-hour cancellation policy has already begun at select locations.
All updates are expected to go into effect at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in the coming weeks.
Disney’s Advanced Dining Reservation System is typically available 60 days in advance for most restaurants.
Reservations are essential for many of the most popular fan favourites, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table at Disney World and Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland. Both theme parks also offer a last-minute feature for tables that become available on the day of your visit.
These updates come as Disney Parks continue to update and revamp popular services to improve and add flexibility to the theme park vacation based on guest feedback. Most recently, Disney World updated its Disney Genie+ attraction reservation system, allowing guests to reserve rides for a single park or on a multi-park basis. Other updates include the return of the Disney Dining Plan in 2024 and the overhaul of the theme park reservation system.
