Paris is always a good idea. And now travellers can escape to the French city and other European hotspots for less with a new Icelandair sale that offers flights from as low as $349 roundtrip.
The sale, which the airline told Travel + Leisure must be booked by September 21, offers flights from many of Icelandair’s gateway cities in the United States to popular destinations across Europe, from Paris, London and Amsterdam to Barcelona, Copenhagen, Reykjavik and more. Dates of the promotion vary by location, but will run until 29 February 2024.
“Visiting Iceland in the autumn and winter gives travellers lower prices, better availability, and the best chance to experience the Northern Lights!” Michael Raucheisen, a spokesman for Icelandair, told T+L. “Europe also has a sublime quality during the colourful autumn and magical, fresh winters!”
Travellers can fly from Baltimore to Reykjavik for as little as $349, or from New York City to Dublin for as little as $379. For just $10 more, travellers can fly from Orlando to Copenhagen. And for as little as $409, travellers can fly from Chicago to Zurich, Boston to Rome and Washington D.C. to Brussels.
Icelandair operates a hub-and-spoke model, with all flights from the US passing through Reykjavik before continuing on to other European destinations. As a result, the airline allows travellers to add a stopover in Iceland for 1 to 7 nights at no additional cost.
The airline offers five different fare classes for international flights: Economy Light, Economy Standard, Economy Flex, Saga Premium and Saga Premium Flex. The cheapest option, Economy Light, includes one carry-on bag, one personal item and non-alcoholic beverages, but no checked baggage or seat selection.
Saga Premium Flex – starting from $999 during the sale – includes two checked bags, two carry-on bags, free Wi-Fi, free meals, priority boarding and more.
