Sleep in a new Norwegian luxury glass lodge under the Northern Lights

by Alice

Off the Map Travel announces the launch of the “Panorama Luxury in Tromso” programme, offering accommodation in two new luxury glass lodges in Norway. Available as a five-night package, the AERA nord-Panorama Glass Lodges put guests directly under the Northern Lights in the Arctic wilderness of Tromso for two nights, with three nights in a three-bedroom luxury Tromso apartment with private chef. Both locations focus on the search for the aurora borealis, which can be viewed from the comfort of your own bed. The experience also includes local Arctic dining and winter activities such as husky sledding and snowshoeing.

The launch coincides with the height of the ‘solar maximum’, the time in the sun’s 11-year cycle when the sun is most active, causing the brightest and most frequent displays of the Aurora Borealis.

Perfect for couples who want to combine luxury with an immersive Arctic experience, the two new AERA Nord panoramic glass lodges are located in a remote area north of Tromso, more than two hundred miles above the Arctic Circle. The glass lodges feature a king-size bed, luxury bathroom, kitchenette and dining area designed for uninterrupted Northern Lights viewing. All are surrounded by glass walls with glass ceilings for views of the Arctic night sky. With an emphasis on sustainability and environmental protection, the clean, contemporary Scandinavian design of the new Panorama Lodge uses local natural materials to blend in with the wilderness outside.

“We have combined the new eco-sensitive lodge accommodation with private tours by Tesla and other eco-conscious activities. This is a new experience that offers adventure but doesn’t compromise on comfort, quality and sustainability,” says Jonny Cooper, founder of Off the Map Travel , the exclusive tour operator for the new glass lodges.
