With the price of the euro recently reaching parity with the dollar for the first time in almost 20 years, American travellers have an incredible opportunity to enjoy a cheaper than usual trip to European countries using the euro currency, such as France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
With this in mind, cheap flight comparison site WayAway conducted a survey of a statistically relevant sample of 250 American citizens.
The results showed that
Nearly half (49%) are now more inclined to travel to Europe than before as a result of the dollar’s parity with the euro.
The area where they feel they are most likely to benefit from this change is shopping (63%), closely followed by eating out (60%).
“This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime gift for American travellers who want to visit Europe, and it comes at a fantastic time, with hotel and airfares falling from September as the busy European summer season comes to an end. Historically, however, this is unlikely to last, so act quickly to take advantage and perhaps even consider buying your pocket money now.”
