Singapore Airlines has announced a two-year, S$45 million (approximately AU$53.7 million) renovation project to enhance its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 2. The transformation, which begins today, aims to improve the overall customer experience at Singapore Airlines’ main hub.
The renovation will take place in phases, with the work expected to be completed by mid-2027. Once finished, the revamped lounges will offer 50% more space and seating. The new design will incorporate signature elements from Singapore Airlines’ Terminal 3 lounges and provide an expanded range of food and beverage options.
“This investment reflects Singapore Airlines’ commitment to enhancing the overall travel experience for our customers,” said Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines. “Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we’re bringing the same exceptional service and carefully curated offerings to Terminal 2, ensuring a seamless, world-class experience for our valued passengers.”
SilverKris First Class Lounge Set for Major Upgrade
The new First Class SilverKris Lounge will feature an expansive layout, with increased capacity, higher ceilings, and large floor-to-ceiling windows. A redesigned bar will offer a premium experience, including barista services in the mornings.
The lounge will also introduce live cooking stations offering a variety of popular Singaporean, Asian, and Western dishes. Additionally, the self-service buffet will be expanded, reflecting the offerings available at the Terminal 3 SilverKris Lounge.
Expanded Business Class Lounge
The Business Class SilverKris Lounge will grow by 30%, providing more space and comfort for passengers. New features will include a quiet rest area with recliners, allowing customers to relax before their flights. The redesigned living room area will offer a variety of seating options such as wingback chairs, sofas, and productivity pods, giving passengers the flexibility to work, eat, or rest in comfort.
The upgraded self-service buffet will offer both Asian and Western cuisines. A new full-service bar will enhance the dining experience, serving barista-made coffee in the morning and signature cocktails in the evening.
KrisFlyer Gold Lounge Expansion
The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double its capacity and introduce new seating arrangements, including armchairs for lounging, workstations, and dining seats. To improve passenger comfort, new in-lounge restrooms and shower suites will be added, giving customers a chance to freshen up before their flights.
Phased Renovation Plan
The renovations will be carried out in phases to minimize disruption to lounge users. The construction of the new First Class SilverKris Lounge will start on 15 April 2025, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2025. Work on the Business Class SilverKris Lounge is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge is expected to start its renovation in the first half of 2026.
