Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has been ranked the most punctual airline in Europe for March 2025. The airline achieved an impressive on-time performance rate of 91.92%, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium. This also placed SAS second globally, behind only Saudi, and ahead of Aeromexico.
Reliable Flights Despite Harsh Conditions
Cirium’s report highlights SAS’s ability to maintain schedules even during Scandinavia’s tough winter weather. In March alone, the airline completed over 2,000 de-icing operations. Despite the challenges, SAS managed to keep most of its flights on time. This reflects strong operational planning and execution.
Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS, said the result was a proud moment for the airline.

A Year of Progress
SAS has shown consistent improvement over the past year. It was ranked Europe’s most punctual airline in both August and October 2024. Overall, the airline finished third in Europe for the year and ninth globally.
To mark this strong performance, Cirium awarded SAS third place in Europe for on-time performance in 2024.
