Goodwings, a travel management platform specializing in sustainability, has successfully raised $2.9 million (20 million DKK) in a new funding round to accelerate the growth of its eco-friendly travel products.
The Denmark-based company announced that the funds, raised in March, will help expand its global reach and continue to enhance its sustainability features. The company plans to further develop solutions that support businesses in reducing their environmental impact while managing travel.
The new funding comes from a mix of existing investors—including Arve Andresen, Anders Colding Friis, Christina Topsøe, Nicholas Hammeken, and Global Cleantech Capital—as well as two new investors: Lars Thuesen, former CFO of SAS Group and owner of charter airline Jettime, and Patrick Diemer, former CEO of AirPlus and co-founder of BT4Europe, a business travel organization.
Diemer expressed his enthusiasm for Goodwings’ approach, saying, “Having worked in various roles in the business travel sector, I see great potential in Goodwings. Their innovative model is exactly what the industry needs, making it easier for companies to travel responsibly while maintaining quality. I’m eager to contribute my expertise to their mission and support their growth.”
Founded in 2015 and B Corp certified, Goodwings offers businesses a platform to book travel and manage their carbon footprint in one place. In 2024, the company partnered with Spotnana to integrate its booking technology, an effort supported by JTB Business Travel, which owns a minority stake in Goodwings’ U.S. division.
Goodwings uses its booking revenue to help clients reduce their Scope 3 travel emissions through the purchase of alternative aviation fuel and carbon offsets. The platform also provides clients with emissions calculations, reduction strategies, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting tools, as well as the ability to set carbon budgets for their travel activities.
