American Airlines has announced plans to expand its service to Mexico with a new nonstop route to Puerto Escondido (PXM), marking the airline’s 30th destination in the country.
Starting December 3, 2025, the airline will launch twice-weekly, year-round flights from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Puerto Escondido. The flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Embraer 175 aircraft.
This new route will make American Airlines the U.S. carrier with the most service to Puerto Escondido.
“Puerto Escondido is quickly becoming a top destination for travelers looking for tropical and relaxing getaways,” said José A. Freig, American’s vice president of international operations. “We believe our new service from Dallas-Fort Worth will give our customers a great opportunity to discover a unique part of Mexico.”
Puerto Escondido is located along the coast of Oaxaca. The beach town is known for its surfing, vibrant nightlife, and fresh seafood. It has become an increasingly popular spot for U.S. travelers.
Mexico remains the most visited international destination for American travelers, according to the airline. American Airlines has been expanding its network in Mexico over recent years to meet rising demand.
In March, the carrier began new flights to Tampico (TAM). In November, it will start the only international service from Oklahoma with flights to Cancun (CUN).
Earlier in 2024, American also announced new service to Tijuana (TIJ), Tulum (TQO), and Veracruz (VER), continuing its growth across the country.
