Cambodia Airways marked a significant milestone on April 1, 2025, with the launch of its new Phnom Penh–Hong Kong route. The inaugural flight ceremony took place at Hong Kong International Airport, attended by prominent officials and industry leaders.
Notable guests at the event included Mr. Perry Yiu, MH, JP, Legislative Council Member (Tourism) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Mr. Johnny So, Honorary Treasurer & Director of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong; Mr. Chapman Fong, Deputy Director of Corporate Development of Airport Authority Hong Kong; Mr. Gary Zhan, Chairman of SATS HK Limited; and Mr. Jesse Fang, CEO of SATS HK Limited. Joining them was Mr. Edison Duan, Board of Directors Member and CEO of Cambodia Airways, who led a delegation to celebrate the occasion.
The Phnom Penh–Hong Kong route is Cambodia Airways’ fourth direct service to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, following existing routes to Macau, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou. With this expansion, the airline now connects Phnom Penh to all four key cities in the region.
Hong Kong is a major international business and aviation hub, playing a crucial role in the Greater Bay Area’s economy. Meanwhile, Cambodia is one of ASEAN’s fastest-growing economies and a key partner in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The new route aims to enhance business travel, boost economic ties, and foster deeper industrial cooperation between the two locations.
As Cambodia’s only full-service airline, Cambodia Airways offers high-quality business class services with distinctive Khmer hospitality. The new route provides greater convenience for business travelers and tourists alike. Hong Kong travelers now have an easier way to explore Cambodia’s rich culture, historical landmarks, and unique traditions.
To mark the inaugural flight, Cambodia Airways collaborated with SATS HK Limited and Megacap Aviation Service Limited to welcome the KR507 crew upon arrival in Hong Kong. Passengers on the return flight, KR508, were also greeted with souvenir gifts and best wishes for their journey. At 2:00 PM Cambodia time, the first flight from Hong Kong landed at Phnom Penh International Airport. The arriving passengers received a warm welcome with Khmer jasmine garlands, and the flight crew was honored with flowers to celebrate the occasion.
With this new route, Cambodia Airways continues to expand its network, strengthening connectivity between Cambodia and key international destinations.
