Suzanne Horner, CEO of Gray Dawes Group, has stepped down from her position as chair of the Business Travel Association (BTA) board.
Horner, who held the role since 2019, explained that she made the decision to focus her efforts on the global expansion of Gray Dawes.
Mervyn Williamson, director of Corporate Travel Management UK and the current BTA treasurer, will serve as the interim chair. He will hold the position until September 2025 while the BTA conducts a formal search for a new chair.
The BTA board praised Horner’s leadership, stating, “Suzanne has been an exceptional leader and a dedicated advocate for the business travel sector during her nearly six-year tenure.” The board also extended its thanks for her contributions and wished her and Gray Dawes success in the future.
Reflecting on her time as the BTA’s first female chair, Horner called it “both an honour and a privilege.” She added, “I am extremely proud of how the board and I have fostered an inclusive and diverse environment, and I am confident the BTA will continue to thrive.”
With her focus now on Gray Dawes’ continued growth, Horner said, “I have chosen to fully concentrate my considerable efforts on the company.”
