Royal Caribbean is making waves again with exciting updates for cruise passengers. The cruise line recently introduced free airport transfers for guests disembarking from *Symphony of the Seas* and *Icon of the Seas* at PortMiami. This move aims to ease traffic congestion, especially on busy days when the port sees up to 76,000 travelers.
But that’s not all—Royal Caribbean is also expanding its U.S. homeports, with *Serenade of the Seas* set to sail from San Diego this fall. Now, the cruise giant is rolling out a brand-new category of shore excursions called “Royal Signature Excursions,” designed to offer travelers unforgettable adventures in the Caribbean, Alaska, and Europe.
These carefully curated experiences promise smaller group sizes, skip-the-line access, and premium transportation. According to Royal Caribbean, these excursions are “handpicked to capture the essence of each destination,” ensuring once-in-a-lifetime memories. Travel expert Jason from *The Travel Scouts* highlighted the perks, noting that these tours go beyond typical sightseeing. Whether it’s truffle hunting in Tuscany or exploring the stunning villages of Cinque Terre, these excursions are tailored for luxury and exclusivity.
In Europe, passengers can enjoy unique experiences in Florence, Rome, Mykonos, and Santorini. Options include truffle hunting with a Tuscan farmhouse lunch, a guided tour of Pisa with access to the Leaning Tower, and wine tasting along Cinque Terre’s scenic coastline. The Caribbean offers premium excursions in St. Maarten, St. Kitts & Nevis, and St. Thomas, while Alaska’s adventures focus on Juneau, Icy Strait Point, and Sitka.
While Royal Caribbean enhances its excursion lineup, travelers visiting Roatan should be aware of new restrictions. The Honduran government has introduced a ban on wildlife interactions—including sloths, monkeys, and sea turtles—to combat illegal trafficking and protect endangered species. This means popular animal encounters may no longer be available.
Though currently limited to select ports, Royal Caribbean’s Signature Excursions are available for booking, with more destinations expected to be added in the future. With these bold changes, Royal Caribbean continues to redefine cruise vacations, offering travelers richer, more exclusive experiences both on board and ashore.
