Global rail wholesaler, International Rail, has broadened its offerings by introducing premium bus routes. These new services are designed to give travel agents more options when creating rail itineraries for their clients.
Jonathan Hume, the company’s owner and director, explained that agents can now provide clients with bus routes for situations where buses are more practical or direct than trains.
“While we always recommend train travel for the best way to experience Europe, with its comfort, speed, and scenic views, we understand that buses can sometimes be a better choice,” Hume said. “In cases where train services are limited, indirect, or unavailable, buses provide a more practical and efficient option.”
He emphasized that International Rail has carefully selected key bus routes that provide a more convenient travel solution. These include routes that connect destinations without direct rail services, shorten travel times, or ensure smooth border crossings.
Among the new bus offerings are services from National Express, which connects Heathrow Airport to major cities like London, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Manchester. Alsa Buses offers long-distance travel between Spain and Portugal, with routes such as Madrid to Lisbon, Seville to Faro, and Porto to Salamanca. Alsa also operates connections from Andorra, including routes from Andorra to Barcelona and Andorra to Toulouse.
Arriva Buses provides regular services between Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia. These buses depart from Split bus station and arrive at Dubrovnik bus station.
In addition, International Rail will offer alternative bus services for passengers traveling between Budapest and Belgrade, as extensive trackwork will impact the popular route throughout 2025.
All bus services partner with modern coaches that offer comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, power outlets, entertainment systems, and luggage storage.
With these new bus options, International Rail is further solidifying its position as a leading travel provider for agents in Australia, offering a comprehensive rail and bus holiday experience for clients.
