The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, operated by Belmond, is unveiling a new luxurious route from Paris to Tuscany. This scenic journey will take passengers through the beautiful French countryside before arriving in Italy’s renowned Tuscan landscape.
A symbol of classic travel, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is known for offering a sophisticated experience, blending history, luxury, and adventure. Belmond has designed this new route to provide the ultimate in slow, elegant travel.
Travelers can choose from three accommodation options. Historic Cabins feature cozy banquette seating that transforms into comfortable sleeping areas. Suites offer extra space, Art Deco details, a plush double bed, and a private ensuite bathroom. For those seeking the ultimate indulgence, the Grand Suites provide luxurious marble bathrooms, large windows, red velvet furnishings, complimentary Champagne, and 24/7 butler service.
The journey begins at Paris’ Gare d’Austerlitz station in the afternoon, where passengers are welcomed with fine pastries, tea, coffee, and Champagne. As the train moves through the French countryside, passengers can relax and enjoy the picturesque views of villages and vineyards.
In the evening, a gourmet dinner awaits guests, prepared by renowned chef Jean Imbert. The menu combines French and Italian flavors inspired by the regions the train passes through. After dinner, guests can enjoy cocktails and live piano music in Bar Car 3674, before retreating to their cabins for a restful night.
The next morning, passengers wake up to stunning views of the Italian countryside. Breakfast is served in the comfort of their cabins as the train heads to Siena, where travelers will embark on a guided tour of the city’s medieval treasures, including an exclusive visit to the 13th-century Palazzo Pannocchieschi d’Elci.
The journey continues with a transfer to Castello di Casole, Belmond’s private estate in Tuscany. Here, guests will enjoy two nights surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The estate offers a range of activities, including a traditional feast, artisan showcases, spa treatments, and stargazing sessions, offering a true taste of Tuscan life.
This new Paris-to-Tuscany route follows the success of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express 2024 Portofino journey, which will return this summer. It adds to the growing list of Belmond’s iconic train routes, including those from Istanbul to Paris, Lyon to Venice, and Amsterdam to Verona.
