Merlin Entertainments has announced plans to sell the Otway Fly in Victoria and the Illawarra Fly in New South Wales. The decision is part of the company’s global strategy to focus on city-based attractions in Sydney and Melbourne.
Both parks will continue normal operations until the sale is complete or new ownership takes over. Ian Wood, Merlin Entertainments ANZ divisional director, praised the teams for creating unforgettable experiences over the past 21 years at Otway Fly and 16 years at Illawarra Fly.
These treetop walk and zipline attractions are set in stunning natural landscapes—the Otway Ranges and Southern Highlands. Otway Fly spans 81 hectares, while Illawarra Fly covers 13 hectares. Just 2.5 hours from Melbourne and 2 hours from Sydney, they remain popular with tourists.
The sale is being managed by Lachlan and John Castran.
