Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has been named a major partner for the 72nd Sydney Film Festival, which will take place from June 4 to June 15, 2025.
As the Official Presenting Partner of SFFTV, NCL will offer an outdoor cinema experience in Martin Place as part of the Vivid Sydney event. The space, titled “SFFTV presented by Norwegian Cruise Line,” will feature free public screenings, exclusive festival content, and a unique activation showcasing NCL’s distinctive approach to global travel. This experience will highlight both nearby and international holiday destinations.
“We are proud to partner with the Sydney Film Festival, a collaboration that reflects our shared passion for world-class entertainment,” said Ben Angell, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Vice President and Managing Director for Asia Pacific.
“Film is one of the top interests among our guests, making this partnership a perfect match. It also comes at an exciting time as we launch our Silver Screen Bistro aboard the Norwegian Breakaway – the world’s first immersive cinema and dining experience at sea. NCL is committed to offering more at sea, and we look forward to bringing this partnership to life for both film lovers and cruise guests alike.”
Frances Wallace, CEO of the Sydney Film Festival, commented, “The Sydney Film Festival connects audiences with global stories, and Norwegian Cruise Line shares this spirit of discovery. Their support will enhance SFFTV and create a dynamic space for moviegoers in the heart of the city.”
Festivalgoers who purchase a subscription or flexipass will have the chance to win a nine-day Mediterranean cruise aboard Norwegian Breakaway as part of the partnership.
The 72nd Sydney Film Festival will feature screenings across iconic venues in Greater Sydney, including the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Cinemas Newtown, and others, with SFFTV presented by Norwegian Cruise Line in Martin Place.
The first films in the 2025 program will be announced in April, with the full lineup revealed on May 7, 2025.
