The Seatrade Cruise Global conference in Miami, scheduled for April, will feature the largest-ever delegation of cruise representatives from Australia and New Zealand.
Over 30 organizations from both countries will participate in the event, including major players such as Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the Australian Cruise Association (ACA), and the New Zealand Cruise Association (NZCA). The Australian delegation will include members from all three associations, along with ports, destinations, industry stakeholders, and tourism authorities from each Australian state and New Zealand.
The delegation will attend events and discussions during the Seatrade conference from April 7 to 10. In addition to the conference and exhibition, delegates will participate in business meetings with global cruise industry leaders and a panel discussion focused on challenges and opportunities in the Australasian region.
Jill Abel, CEO of ACA, emphasized the importance of Seatrade Cruise Global as a platform to showcase some of the world’s most unique and diverse cruise destinations.
“For over 30 years, we’ve led the Australian delegation to this event, contributing to its growth and success,” Abel said. “This year, our delegation brings deep expertise in port operations, destination promotion, itinerary development, shore excursions, and the food and beverage supply chain within the Australian and South Pacific cruise sectors.”
Jacqui Lloyd, CEO of NZCA, expressed excitement about the opportunity to highlight New Zealand’s long-term vision for a thriving cruise economy.
“We’re thrilled to welcome so many new faces to Seatrade for the first time, allowing them to connect with cruise lines and share insights with other delegates,” Lloyd said. “This collaboration will strengthen New Zealand’s cruise offerings and underscore the country’s commitment to the sector.”
Joel Katz, managing director of CLIA in Australasia, noted that the large delegation would further elevate the region’s profile within the global cruise industry.
“Australia and New Zealand are home to one of the most dynamic cruise markets in the world, offering some of the planet’s most breathtaking destinations,” Katz said. “This year’s delegation will highlight the region’s potential while allowing Australian and New Zealand industry leaders to engage in discussions on the trends shaping the global cruise sector.”
The Australian delegation will include representatives from CLIA, ACA, Destination NSW, South Australian Tourism Commission, Tourism NT, Tourism Queensland, Tourism Tasmania, Tourism WA, Visit Victoria, Auriga Pilots, Cruise Broome, Intercruises, Port Arthur, Port Authority of NSW, Port of Brisbane, Select Fresh Providores, Shorex Australia, TasPorts, and Ports Victoria.
The New Zealand delegation will include representatives from NZCA, Tourism New Zealand, Air New Zealand, CentrePort Wellington, ID New Zealand, Napier Port, Northport Whangarei, Port of Auckland, Port of Tauranga, Port Marlborough, Port Otago, Primeport Timaru, and Wellington Cable Car.
