Health City Camana Bay has made history with the launch of its maternity services. The hospital celebrated the births of its first three healthy babies, marking a major step forward for healthcare in the Cayman Islands.
The first baby was born at 5:19 am on March 13. Two more followed on March 16 and 18. These deliveries signal the successful start of the hospital’s advanced obstetric care program.
All three births took place in Health City’s newly upgraded maternity unit. The facility is designed to provide comfort and privacy for mothers. Each suite is fully equipped to ensure top-quality care for both mothers and newborns. A skilled team of obstetricians, midwives, and neonatal specialists worked together to ensure safe and personalized deliveries.
Dr. Rommel El-Madany, a respected OB/GYN consultant, assisted with the third birth. Though not a full-time staff member, he is among a select group of doctors approved to deliver babies at Health City. This milestone highlights the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare in the Cayman Islands.
Dr. Binoy Chattuparambil, Clinical Director at Health City Cayman Islands, shared his excitement. “This is the fulfillment of a vision—to give families in the Cayman Islands world-class maternity care close to home,” he said. “Our team has worked hard to create a space that combines advanced medicine with comfort and support. These first births prove their dedication.”
The maternity unit blends the latest technology with a patient-centered approach. Services include private birthing suites, a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and round-the-clock access to specialists. The hospital also offers prenatal classes, wellness programs, and postnatal care to support new mothers.
Shiela Masangcay, who delivered the second baby at Health City, praised her experience. “The care was exceptional,” she said. “The team was professional, kind, and efficient. They made sure I felt safe and valued every step of the way.”
Health City Camana Bay is now the leading choice for families seeking expert maternity care. With its advanced facilities and compassionate approach, the hospital is setting new standards for mothers and newborns in the Cayman Islands.
