PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) and Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) have announced a two-year strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The alliance focuses on driving social and economic progress through business events.
The partnership will involve cross-promotion of educational events and shared benefits to enhance brand visibility and event participation. Additionally, PCMA and BEIA will collaborate on research to gain a deeper understanding of the scale and impact of business events across the APAC region.
Florence Chua, PCMA Managing Director for APAC, emphasized the organization’s ongoing commitment to advancing the global business events industry. “This alliance offers a platform for collective growth, providing essential knowledge, resources, and networks to foster collaboration in the region,” Chua said.
Lisa Hopkins, Chief Executive of BEIA, expressed confidence in the significant benefits the alliance will bring to BEIA members and the broader industry. “PCMA is a leading global association in the business events sector with a strong focus on the APAC market,” Hopkins said. “The mutual respect between our organizations is key to this partnership.”
Through the alliance, BEIA members will gain access to PCMA’s top-tier educational content and resources, supporting their professional development. Both organizations will also work together to develop educational sessions for their respective conferences, including PCMA’s APAC events and BEIA’s conferences. In addition, the partnership will offer free educational webinars to BEIA members.
As part of the collaboration, PCMA will participate in MEETINGS, New Zealand’s largest business events trade show, which will feature an educational component in 2026.
Looking ahead, PCMA and BEIA plan to establish a “PCMA x BEIA Circle” to connect corporate event organizers in New Zealand. This exclusive micro-community will provide opportunities for peer-to-peer sharing and collaboration.
