Saudi Arabia’s electric vehicle (EV) revolution just got a major boost. The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ) has launched its first highway charging station, marking a big step in the country’s push for sustainable transport.
The new station is located at SASCO Aljazeera, a key stop on the busy Riyadh-Qassim highway. It aims to solve a major problem for EV drivers—long-distance travel. With fast, reliable charging now available on highways, more people are expected to switch to electric cars.
EVIQ plans to build over 5,000 fast chargers across Saudi Arabia by 2030. This will support the Kingdom’s green energy goals and make EV travel easier for everyone.
The project is a partnership with SASCO, a major roadside service provider. By adding EV chargers to its network, SASCO is helping transform Saudi Arabia’s transportation future. This move shows a strong commitment to eco-friendly travel options.
The launch of this charging station is just the beginning. As EVIQ expands its network, Saudi Arabia moves closer to a cleaner, greener future on the road.
