IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to open its first Garner-branded hotel in Scotland. The hotel will be located in central Edinburgh, where IHG will take over an existing property.
Garner Hotels, which recently opened its first UK property in Preston, will rebrand the Haymarket Hub Hotel as the Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh later this year. The rebranding follows a £2 million renovation of the hotel.
The newly refurbished hotel will feature 195 rooms and is owned by Palm Holdings. Its prime location, near Haymarket Station and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), makes it an ideal spot for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel will also offer a bar and café in the lobby area.
Willemijn Geels, IHG’s vice president of development for Europe, said, “Over the past few months, we have launched or signed Garner Hotels in more than six European cities, reflecting our expanding presence in the essentials segment.”
Geels added, “Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh highlights the success of our conversion brands. With its central location and unique design, I believe it will become a flagship property for Garner Hotels in Europe.”
Launched in 2023, Garner Hotels now has 23 open properties worldwide, with 94 more in development.
