InteleTravel Acquires Tickitto, Expanding Access to Live Events and Experiences

by Alice

InteleTravel, a global travel distributor and long-time host agency, has announced its acquisition of Tickitto, a UK-based API platform that offers access to tickets for a wide range of live events and global experiences. These include major league sports, concerts, Formula 1, FIFA events, and more.

As with previous acquisitions, Tickitto will continue to operate independently under the InteleTravel umbrella. CEO Dana Lattouf and the current team will remain in place. InteleTravel, which achieved over $1 billion in sales in 2024 and serves more than 130,000 advisors, sees the acquisition as a way to further enhance its services for travelers.

Tickitto, founded in 2019, connects businesses with advanced technology solutions to provide access to a wide variety of events. Through its modern API platform, businesses can offer over $63 billion worth of tickets for everything from concerts and theater shows to sports events and local activities. The platform also includes white-label ticket booking sites and standardized data to make access easier for businesses.

The acquisition allows InteleTravel’s network of advisors to book travel and accommodations around exclusive events and attractions, improving customer experiences. InteleTravel’s subsidiaries, including Hickory Global Partners and MGME, will also offer corporate clients access to VIP sports and show experiences.

James R. Ferrara, CEO of InteleTravel, explained, “Our analysis shows that 1 in 10 travel bookings are related to live events, concerts, or sports. These bookings often lead to additional spending. We believe that ‘eventcations’ will continue to rise in 2025, with people seeking unique experiences as much as the destinations themselves.”

Ferrara also emphasized that the acquisition of Tickitto enables InteleTravel to offer better value and a richer experience to customers. By combining its packaging capabilities, technology, and tour operations through Major Travel, InteleTravel can increase profits for both advisors and the company.

The acquisition gives InteleTravel direct access to new ticketing inventory, overcoming challenges in the previously fragmented ticketing market. This will allow InteleTravel to offer a more efficient and competitive pricing model, avoiding inflated costs often associated with secondary ticket sales.
