Delta Air Lines is adding a new nonstop flight from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Kona, Hawaii (KOA) starting this December. The new service will be available for booking starting Saturday, March 29.
The airline will operate the route using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft through March 28, 2026. This new route is part of Delta’s broader effort to expand its service to Hawaii, with plans to add more flights to meet growing demand.
Starting October 6, Delta will also increase flights between Salt Lake City and Maui (OGG). Initially, the airline will offer four weekly flights, expanding to daily service in November. During the busy holiday season, from December 19 to January 5, 2026, there will be two daily flights on the route.
Delta’s Maui route from Atlanta will also start earlier this year, beginning November 6, and will be operated on the Airbus A330-300. In addition, Delta will add extra flights during the peak holiday season.
Delta is also extending its Minneapolis to Honolulu service to operate year-round. From November 6 through March 28, 2026, passengers will enjoy upgraded Airbus A330-300 aircraft on the route.
“We’re excited to strengthen Delta’s network to Hawaii this winter with the addition of new and expanded service, including our new route between Salt Lake City and Kona,” said a Delta spokesperson. “With a 10% increase in seats compared to last year, we’re offering customers more options to explore the Hawaiian Islands during the holiday season, whether revisiting a favorite island or discovering a new one.”
