BCD Travel is pushing for growth in the Nordic region after boosting its local teams and technology. A key part of this strategy is the upgrade of its TripSource platform, a tool for travel planning and trip management.
The company has also partnered with Danish tech firm SoftInventor to launch TripRacer, a new online booking tool tailored for the Nordics. The platform now includes Norwegian rail options, adding to BCD’s existing rail and ground transport content in Sweden.
A More Efficient Booking Process
“TripRacer meets all regional needs, from payment solutions to rail and ground transport,” said Thomas Aden, Managing Director and Vice President for the Nordics at BCD. “It has a market-leading booking flow, which will help us attract new clients.”
The tool is available to all businesses operating in the Nordics, including global companies looking for a best-in-market solution.
Further Expansion Plans
Aden said BCD aims to add Finnish and Danish rail content next. The company is also hiring more staff in the region to support growth.
Changing Travel Trends in the Nordics
While Nordic travel volumes remain below pre-pandemic levels, Aden noted that air travel had already been declining before COVID-19 due to “flygskam” (flight shame). Some companies now ban domestic flights, pushing travelers toward trains.
“If you travel, you take the train,” Aden said. This shift makes rail content a key focus for BCD’s Nordic strategy.
Looking Ahead
With new technology and expanded rail offerings, BCD is positioning itself as a stronger player in the Nordic corporate travel market.
