Emirates and Tourism Ireland have renewed their partnership for another two years, aiming to increase tourism to Ireland from Australia and New Zealand.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today by Barry Brown, Emirates’ divisional vice president for Australasia, and Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Under the new agreement, both organizations will work together on various initiatives to promote Ireland as a top destination for travelers. The partnership will focus on attracting visitors from Emirates’ key markets, including Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE. The two will also explore joint promotional efforts, such as advertising campaigns, to raise awareness of Ireland’s appeal.
Barry Brown, Emirates’ Divisional Vice President for Australasia, shared his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Tourism Ireland. This renewal highlights Ireland’s importance as a key European destination, known for its rich culture and famous landmarks. Through this collaboration, we aim to bring more visitors from Australia, New Zealand, and beyond to experience what Ireland has to offer.”
Brown also emphasized that Emirates’ Dubai hub is a perfect stopover for Australian travelers heading to Europe, with easy connections and excellent facilities.
Sofia Hansson of Tourism Ireland expressed similar excitement, saying: “We know that better access directly leads to more visitors. We are eager to continue working closely with Emirates to expand tourism from Australia to Ireland.”
Since launching the Dublin-Dubai route in January 2012, Emirates has carried over 3 million passengers on this popular route. Australians can conveniently connect to Ireland through Emirates’ daily flights from Dubai to Dublin, using the Boeing 777-300ER, which can carry up to 1,440 passengers a day.
