Bunnik Tours, a family-run travel company based in Adelaide, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a special event at the Queen Victoria Building Tea Rooms in Sydney last night. The celebration brought together the extended Bunnik family, including co-CEOs Sacha and Dennis Bunnik, and their mother Marion Bunnik, the company’s founder.
The event featured a panel discussion hosted by Mark Tucker, where the Bunnik family shared behind-the-scenes stories and insights about their journey. Media, travel agents, and industry partners attended the celebration, enjoying cake and learning more about the company’s humble beginnings.
The idea for Bunnik Tours started in the mid-1970s when the family decided to sell their home, convert a van into a mobile home, and travel across Europe. The panel shared some humorous anecdotes from their travels, including Dennis getting his foot stuck in a bidet in France and Sacha’s embarrassing moment of applying for a Saudi Arabian e-visa with an expired passport. Despite the hiccups, the family’s passion for travel eventually led to the creation of their successful tour company.
Today, Bunnik Tours is known for its small-group tours, offering unique and immersive travel experiences around the world. The company’s 30th anniversary marks a milestone in its journey, showcasing its commitment to creating unforgettable adventures for its customers.
