The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Kingsmen Exhibits have announced an exciting lineup of programs for Singapore’s Pavilion, The Dream Sphere, at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This unique showcase will bring together creative minds, including installation artists, performers, visual designers, and local brands, to celebrate Singapore’s innovation and cultural richness.
Visitors to the Pavilion will enjoy a multi-sensory journey through Singapore’s vibrant culinary heritage, retail excellence, and dynamic performing arts. As part of SG60 celebrations, the Pavilion will highlight how Singapore has turned dreams into reality. Guests can explore immersive experiences, shop for exclusive merchandise, and enjoy live entertainment.
The Pavilion will feature immersive spaces designed by four of Singapore’s top creatives: Ashley Yeo, Jerrold Chong, Melissa Tan, and Zul Mahmod. Their works reflect diverse visions for Singapore’s future. Collaborations with the DesignSingapore Council will also showcase local designers’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and resilience.
To mark SG60, the Pavilion will display 60 “dreams” contributed by Singapore’s diverse communities, including the Nature Society Singapore, SG75, SG Enable, and The Japanese Association, Singapore. These dreams are represented on red discs adorning the Pavilion’s façade, symbolizing Singapore’s multicultural and inclusive society.
At the Dream Boutique, visitors can purchase exclusive souvenirs and merchandise from local brands like Onlewo and The Animal Project. Limited-edition collectibles featuring Merli, the Pavilion’s mascot, will also be available.
The Cloud Bar will offer a taste of Singapore’s innovative cocktail culture, featuring drinks made with local gins from Brass Lion Distillery, Compendium Spirits, and Tanglin Gin. Meanwhile, the Shiok! Café will serve classic Singaporean dishes like Chicken Rice, Satay, and Laksa, celebrating the nation’s hawker heritage.
The Pavilion’s entertainment program, Dream Rhythms, will blend traditional and contemporary music, dance, and visual arts. It will also highlight works by artists with disabilities, showcasing inclusivity. Performances by local talents like 53A, Azariah Tan & Claire Teo, ReDeafination, Shye, and The Island Voices will captivate audiences.
In April, The Island Voices will debut a special performance of original and familiar songs, aligning with the Pavilion’s themes of dreams, creativity, and cultural unity.
Ms. Juliana Kua, Assistant Chief Executive of STB, said, “The Dream Sphere embodies Singapore’s hopes and aspirations. Inspired by Japanese origami, we invite Singaporeans to share their dreams and be part of our collective story on the global stage.”
To engage the public, STB is launching The Dream Messenger campaign. In partnership with the Nippon Origami Association, a unique origami creation called “Sunny,” inspired by Singapore’s crimson sunbird, will allow residents to share their dreams. Starting 13 April 2025, participants can create their own Sunny origami, share a photo with their dreams, and win a trip to the Pavilion in Osaka.
Expo 2025 Osaka will run from 13 April to 13 October 2025, attracting an estimated 28 million visitors. The Singapore Pavilion will serve as a global stage to showcase the nation’s creativity, innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity through a technology-driven, interactive experience. It will tell the story of how Singapore dares to dream while staying true to its values for a better future.
