Malaysia Airlines has teamed up with Trip.com to enhance the travel experience for its passengers. This partnership is a major step forward, as Trip.com becomes the first third-party platform to integrate Malaysia Airlines’ MHupgrade programme. Previously, this service was only available on the airline’s official website. Now, travellers booking flights on Trip.com can easily bid for upgrades, giving them more flexibility and convenience to improve their journey.
The MHupgrade programme allows eligible Economy Class or Business Class passengers to bid for an upgrade to the next cabin class. With this new integration, Trip.com users can access this feature directly, making it simpler to enjoy premium travel experiences.
Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group, said, “We are excited to work with Trip.com to expand the reach of our MHupgrade service. This partnership allows us to offer our passengers an enhanced travel experience with our signature Malaysian Hospitality. It also helps us grow our global presence through a trusted partner like Trip.com.”
Malaysia Airlines, known for its top-notch service, sees this collaboration as a way to reach more travellers and give them the chance to experience its premium cabins.
CT Ooi, Associate Vice President of Trip.com Group, added, “We are proud to partner with Malaysia Airlines to bring the MHupgrade service to our customers. This partnership reflects our goal of improving the travel experience by offering more options and convenience. It also shows the trust our partners, like Malaysia Airlines, have in us to create innovative products together.”
The MHupgrade feature is now live on Trip.com. Passengers can easily bid for upgrades, including on Malaysia Airlines’ new A330neo aircraft. Travellers can look forward to enjoying the luxurious amenities of Malaysia Airlines’ Business Class and Business Suite, such as priority boarding, access to exclusive lounges, and gourmet dining options.
The demand for premium cabin flights is on the rise. In 2024, Business Class bookings on Trip.com grew by over 100% compared to the previous year. This highlights the growing trend of travellers willing to spend more for comfort and luxury during their trips.
