FlyPelican is set to launch its first-ever direct morning flights between Newcastle and the Gold Coast on Monday, 24 March. To mark the occasion, the airline will host a special route launch event, celebrating the new travel option for the region.
The service will operate four days a week—Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays—significantly expanding FlyPelican’s network. This new route aims to provide greater connectivity and flexibility for both business and leisure travellers.
Early morning departures are a key feature of the service, catering especially to business travellers. The flights align with Newcastle Airport’s goal of boosting travel options and improving regional connectivity.
Flights will depart Newcastle at 7:00 am, arriving at the Gold Coast in just 1.5 hours. After a quick 30-minute turnaround, the aircraft will return to Newcastle.
FlyPelican will operate the route using its 19-seat Jetstream 32 aircraft. Passengers will also enjoy a complimentary checked baggage allowance, making the service particularly convenient for business travellers.
Introductory fares for the new route start at $245 one way, including taxes. This new service is expected to provide a convenient and efficient travel option for those commuting between the two regions.
