Canadian rail company Rocky Mountaineer has announced that its train service operating in the United States will now be known as Canyon Spirit.
As part of the rebranding, the Canyon Spirit brand will expand its “Rockies to the Red Rocks” route to include Salt Lake City, Utah, starting in 2026. The new route will connect Denver with Salt Lake City over three scenic travel days.
Canyon Spirit, which has been operating under Rocky Mountaineer since 2021, is excited about this new expansion.
“We are thrilled to introduce Canyon Spirit to Salt Lake City and extend our Rockies to the Red Rocks route into Utah,” said Tristan Armstrong, CEO of Canyon Spirit’s parent company, Armstrong Collective.
“While the name is changing, our world-class service and onboard experience will stay the same. We are eager to showcase the beauty of the American Southwest to more guests from the U.S. and around the world,” Armstrong added.
The new extended journey will begin on April 21, 2026, with weekly departures—one heading west from Denver and one heading east from Salt Lake City. The three-day trip will include overnight stays in Glenwood Springs and Moab. Prices for the journey will start at $2,123 plus tax per person.
Armstrong Collective, the company behind Canyon Spirit, also operates Rocky Mountaineer, which has served over 2.3 million guests on its three Western Canada rail routes over the past 35 years.
