G’Day Group has expanded its footprint in one of Australia’s most famous tourist spots by acquiring the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. This move strengthens its presence in the region, combining the newly acquired property with its existing site, Discovery Parks – Cradle Mountain. Together, they now form the top accommodation and hospitality destination in the area.
The Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village features 45 chalet-style rooms and the award-winning Hellyers restaurant. It complements Discovery Parks, which recently underwent a $20 million upgrade to add more family-friendly and premium cabins.
Grant Wilckens, founder and CEO of G’Day Group, said, “Cradle Mountain is one of Australia’s most stunning and iconic natural destinations. It attracts both local and international visitors. With this acquisition, we can now cater to all types of travelers, from hikers and caravaners looking for campsites to luxury travelers seeking premium stays and dining. This allows us to share this incredible place with a wider range of guests.”
He added, “We understand that the beauty of Cradle Mountain lies in its natural environment. We are committed to preserving this and will work closely with the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service to protect and enhance its appeal.”
The Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village will gradually merge with Discovery Parks – Cradle Mountain Village. It will join G’Day Group’s growing list of premium hospitality properties, including El Questro, Lake Argyle, and Rottnest Island in Western Australia; Wilpena Pound Resort and McCracken Resort in South Australia; Kings Canyon in the Northern Territory; and Undara in Queensland.
