Strengthening Global Connectivity

This collaboration marks a significant step in our mission to enhance connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. By combining our networks, we aim to provide passengers with greater convenience and exceptional service. This partnership also reflects our commitment to strengthening economic and bilateral ties between Ethiopia and the UAE.”

Tasew noted that Ethiopian Airlines will operate the new route using its modern fleet, including Boeing 777 and Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, ensuring a comfortable travel experience. The airline will also leverage its extensive network from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, offering seamless connections to numerous international and domestic destinations.

Expanding Reach Across Key Regions

The joint venture will enhance travel options for passengers traveling between key African cities on Ethiopian Airlines’ network—such as Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Kampala (Uganda), Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), and Lusaka (Zambia)—and major destinations in the UAE and Asia, including Etihad Airways’ routes in Pakistan, Southeast Asia, and upcoming new destinations like Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Krabi (Thailand).

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, offers a wealth of attractions for visitors, including the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous fossil “Lucy,” and the vibrant Mercato Market. The new flights will provide travelers with easier access to these cultural and historical landmarks.

This partnership underscores both airlines’ commitment to delivering greater value and convenience to passengers while fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between their respective regions.
