Intrepid Travel has opened a new office in Copenhagen as part of its ongoing expansion in Northern Europe. This move marks a significant step in the company’s growth strategy in the region.

The new hub will manage 23 small group tours across Northern Europe, with plans to introduce eight more itineraries in 2026. Intrepid aims to double its customer base in the area to 8,000 within the next five years.

“Opening a hub in Copenhagen is a key milestone for Intrepid and highlights our confidence in the region,” said Švajnzger. “Northern Europe is experiencing significant growth, driven by the popularity of ‘coolcations,’ a rising interest in Nordic culture, stunning natural landscapes, and a strong focus on sustainability. I’m thrilled to see our team take Intrepid’s presence in the region to new heights. It’s not just about growing our community but creating meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange.”

Zina Bencheikh, Managing Director for EMEA, expressed excitement about the company’s first office in Scandinavia. “There is immense potential for Intrepid in Europe, and expanding our offices will allow us to offer more products and experiences in the region,” she said.

In addition to the Copenhagen office, Intrepid is strengthening its leadership team with key appointments. Australian Leigh Barnes has been named President of the Americas, while London-based Hazel McGuire has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer.

In November 2024, Inga Rós Antoníusdóttir became the General Manager for Northern Europe, overseeing operations at the new Copenhagen hub. These leadership changes align with Intrepid’s goal of reaching 600,000 travellers by 2030, with an emphasis on sustainable growth and responsible tourism.
