Linc Horton Appointed New CEO of Newcastle Airport

Newcastle Airport has announced the appointment of Linc Horton as its new CEO, marking a significant milestone for the airport with the upcoming opening of its International Terminal.

Horton, set to begin his role on May 5, brings a wealth of experience from his recent position as global head of property at Toll Group. Before that, he served as the Chief of Property at Melbourne Airport (Australia Pacific Airports Pty Ltd) from 2008 to 2020. He also held a senior role in the UK as Investment Director with BAA Lynton, where he oversaw the company’s investment strategy and the Airport Property Partnership.

At Melbourne Airport, Horton played a key role in managing the commercial property division, capital projects, and facilities management. He was instrumental in planning and developing the airport’s commercial estate, growing it into a $105 million per year business. Known for his deal-making skills, Horton has built strong relationships with stakeholders across the industry.

Jude Munro AO, Chair of the Newcastle Airport Board, expressed enthusiasm about Horton’s appointment. “We are thrilled that Linc will be joining us to lead the airport. He brings extensive experience in airports and a proven track record in property development and airport-related negotiations,” Munro said. “Linc will also be a valuable contributor to the business community in the Hunter region.”

In addition to his new role, Horton is the current chair of North Link, a Melbourne business association focused on promoting the region’s economic development. He also serves as deputy chair of the Regional Development Australia, Melbourne Committee.

“I am excited to be joining the airport at such a pivotal time,” Horton said. “The airport is crucial to the success of the Hunter Region, and I look forward to contributing to its growth. My family and I are also excited about moving to the Hunter region and experiencing all it has to offer.”
