Cross Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence in Indonesia by signing a Hotel Management Agreement (HMA) with PT Bali Penida Jaya for the upcoming “Cross Celesta Nusa Penida.” This luxury eco-resort, set to open in 2027, will offer a unique blend of high-end comfort and sustainability. Positioned on the stunning cliffs of Nusa Penida, the resort will provide breathtaking views of Kelingking Beach and the Indian Ocean, while focusing on environmentally responsible design.
The resort will feature 61 luxury tented villas, along with world-class amenities such as infinity pools, a spa, a fitness and recovery center, a signature restaurant, and event spaces for weddings and corporate events. The project combines Cross Hotels & Resorts’ design expertise with PT Bali Penida Jaya’s local knowledge, the sustainable architecture of Escape Nomade, and landscaping by SHL (Swarna Hutama Loka). The goal is to minimize environmental impact while promoting sustainable tourism in Nusa Penida, a growing global destination.
This partnership strengthens Cross Hotels & Resorts’ expanding portfolio in Indonesia. With six brands—Cross, Cross Vibe, Away, Lumen, Cross Collection, and Kaura—the company is solidifying its position as a leading alternative to global hotel operators in the Asia-Pacific region.
Harry Thaliwal, CEO of Cross Hotels & Resorts, said, “This new development reinforces our strategy for growth in Indonesia. Our collaboration with PT Bali Penida Jaya demonstrates our ability to drive performance, elevate market presence, and create lasting value for owners. The project is designed to minimize environmental impact through the use of tented villas, preserving the land while supporting sustainable tourism.”
Ivan Sindoro, CEO of PT Bali Penida Jaya, added, “We’ve created more than just a place to stay—we’ve designed an experience that lets guests connect with the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Nusa Penida. This partnership with Cross Hotels & Resorts allows us to offer a unique destination with modern amenities and a deep sense of place.”
Evan Burns, Country Manager for Indonesia at Cross Hotels & Resorts, commented, “Our ‘Luxury by Design’ philosophy is embodied in this project, offering guests a distinctive stay in an increasingly popular location. This initiative underscores our commitment to bringing premium experiences to Indonesia.”
Cross Hotels & Resorts continues to focus on delivering top-quality hospitality experiences and meeting stakeholder expectations. The addition of this resort marks a significant milestone in the company’s expanding presence in Indonesia’s evolving hospitality market.
