Starting March 13, 2025, Air Astana Group will implement stricter rules regarding the transport of lithium batteries and battery-powered devices to improve flight safety.
Under the updated guidelines, spare batteries, including power banks and electronic smoking devices, must only be carried in hand luggage. Passengers are required to remove any spare batteries from checked luggage before their bags are submitted.
As per the new policy, the maximum allowable battery capacity remains 100Wh. Batteries with a capacity between 100Wh and 160Wh are allowed only with prior approval from the airline, with a limit of two per passenger. Batteries over 160Wh are not allowed on board. Passengers must ensure their batteries have clear capacity markings, as unmarked or uncertified batteries will not be accepted.
For safety reasons, lithium batteries, external batteries, and electronic smoking devices must be stored in hand luggage and placed on the overhead luggage racks during the flight. The use of batteries to charge other devices or charging the batteries themselves while onboard is strictly prohibited.
Air Astana and FlyArystan strongly recommend that passengers review these transport rules before flying to avoid any disruptions.
