MSC Magnifica Arrives in Sydney, Ready to Take Aussies to the Mediterranean

MSC Cruises’ MSC Magnifica has arrived in Sydney Harbour today as part of its 120-night World Cruise, bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to Australia.

The ship, which started its journey in Rome, will visit 46 destinations across 21 countries and five continents. As MSC Magnifica makes its way to Australia, new data from MSC Cruises reveals that the Mediterranean remains the top destination for Australian cruisers. Over 60% of MSC Cruises’ Australian guests choose to cruise in the region, with the Western Mediterranean being the most popular area. Barcelona and Rome are the preferred ports for Australian passengers.

MSC Magnifica is one of four ships in MSC Cruises’ Musica Class, offering nearly all balcony cabins. This design allows guests to enjoy the scenic views throughout their journey. The ship also reflects the elegant European style MSC is known for. Onboard, guests will find four gourmet restaurants and 11 bars and lounges, providing a variety of dining options that showcase the best of European cuisine.

Guests are particularly enjoying the onboard espresso and cappuccinos, with approximately 5,000 coffees served daily. The ship also sees 180 freshly baked Italian-style pizzas and 25 kilograms of ice cream and gelato consumed each day.

As part of its extensive World Cruise, MSC Magnifica offers guests a chance to indulge in a mix of traditional and new flavors. With 119 different dinner menus and 12 special gala nights, the culinary experience is as varied as it is indulgent.

With 120 days at sea, entertainment plays a key role on board. Guests will enjoy over 1,700 hours of live family entertainment, including a wide range of dazzling international shows.

MSC Cruises is proud of its multicultural crew, with team members representing 144 nationalities. Many crew members are fluent in multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Chinese.

MSC Magnifica will depart Sydney on Saturday at 8:00 PM for its maiden visit to Eden, marking the start of a 16-day Australian voyage. Other destinations on the Australian leg include Adelaide, Penneshaw, and Albany.

In 2026, MSC Magnifica will return to Australia as part of its World Cruise, making stops in Auckland and Wellington before heading to Australia. Bookings for the 2026 itinerary are now open.
