Amtrak Vacations has introduced a new two-week trip, the “Yellowstone to Yosemite by Rail – Teddy Roosevelt Trail.” The journey takes travelers from Chicago, Illinois, to San Francisco, California, and includes several overnight stays near Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks.
The itinerary covers hotel stays in Chicago, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco, with two nights spent aboard Amtrak’s California Zephyr train. Participants will also enjoy sightseeing activities at each destination.
This new route follows a similar path to the one featured in the TV show Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner. It retraces the historic journey taken by President Theodore Roosevelt and naturalist John Muir from Yellowstone, America’s first national park, to Yosemite Valley in California.
Prices for the new Amtrak Vacation experience start at $2,679 per person, which includes rail travel, hotels, sightseeing, and other activities outlined in the itinerary.
Amtrak Vacations combines train travel with inclusive packages, offering guests a unique way to explore beautiful cities, landscapes, and national parks. The company offers nearly 200 independent trips, including National Park tours, that can begin or end at any Amtrak station across 46 states. These trips can be customized with additional nights, hotel upgrades, and rail class options.
