Delta Air Lines Partners with Shake Shack to Bring Burgers to First Class

by Alice

Delta Air Lines has unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with Shake Shack, marking the first collaboration of its kind in the airline industry. Starting March 4, 2025, passengers flying First Class on select routes will have the opportunity to enjoy Shake Shack’s iconic burgers at 35,000 feet.

The Shake Shack Cheeseburger will initially be available on flights over 900 miles departing from Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York-LaGuardia, and Seattle. Delta plans to expand the offering to additional U.S. markets later in the year.

First Class passengers on eligible routes can pre-order the Shake Shack Cheeseburger as their meal choice for lunch or dinner. Using the Fly Delta app or a link in their email, travelers can select or modify their entrée up to 24 hours before departure, with the option available starting seven days prior to their flight.

To celebrate the partnership, Delta, Shake Shack, and Uber Eats are joining forces for a special promotion. SkyMiles members who join the Delta x Uber waitlist by March 6, 2025, will receive a “buy one ShackBurger, get one free” offer on Uber Eats. The deal will be added to their Uber Eats account within a few days, and customers can redeem it until March 14, 2025.

Stephanie Laster, Delta’s Managing Director of Onboard Service, highlighted the success of the Shake Shack collaboration, which began in Boston in late 2024. “Customers have loved the Shake Shack experience onboard our flights, with over 10,000 burgers served since December,” she said. “This partnership reflects our commitment to working with beloved brands and enhancing the in-flight experience, whether it’s enjoying a favorite cheeseburger in the sky or offering a variety of fresh, high-quality meals.”

The Shake Shack Cheeseburger features a 100% Angus beef patty, melted cheese, and a toasted potato bun. Passengers can customize their burger with toppings like tomato, lettuce, and Shake Shack’s signature ShackSauce, all served on the side. The meal also includes chips, a Caesar salad, and a dark chocolate brownie.

Michael Kark, President of Global Licensing at Shake Shack, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “Collaborating with Delta has been an incredible way to bring Shake Shack to more guests in a setting where hospitality is key – during travel,” he said. “The response has been overwhelming, and we’re excited to expand this offering, giving even more Delta travelers the chance to enjoy Shake Shack on their journeys.”

This partnership underscores Delta’s ongoing efforts to elevate its in-flight dining experience while providing passengers with familiar and beloved food options. With Shake Shack’s burgers now available in the skies, Delta continues to set new standards for airline hospitality.
