by Alice

Global travel platform NEXUS DMC has announced a new exclusive partnership with US-based travel distributor TRAVEL ANSWERS GROUP (TAG). This collaboration aims to accelerate the growth of the region’s newest tech-driven inbound tour operator.

Travel Answers, already one of the leading providers of USA-based travel to Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, is aiming to double its turnover within the next two years. The company is also the preferred APAC provider for many major US travel agent consortia.

Founded over 30 years ago by Kirk Demeter, Travel Answers Group is based in Seattle and includes well-known brands such as Down Under Answers, Travel2, Islands in the Sun, Africa Answers, and Asia Answers.

Sahil Nijhawan, CEO of Nexus DMC AU/NZ, shared his excitement about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration has allowed us to rapidly expand our supplier network in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. We’re now also able to handle the growing number of North American visitors, alongside the influx of Indian tourists in Australia.”

Nijhawan emphasized that Nexus DMC’s “One World, One DMC” approach will allow Travel Answers to benefit from Nexus’s extensive network across nearly 30 countries, simplifying operations and enabling the company to focus on creating unique travel experiences for its clients.

Kirk Demeter, Founder and CEO of TAG, highlighted that the partnership is part of their long-term strategy to future-proof the business and better serve Travel Advisors. “This partnership with Nexus DMC is a game-changer,” Demeter said. “Together, we’re launching an advanced booking platform that will offer seamless, 24/7 booking capabilities across all our destinations. This will not only improve service delivery but also support our growth and help us better serve our partners.”

The partnership follows a US$50 million Series A investment secured by Nexus DMC’s parent company, ORN Group. This investment, from a prominent Indian technology group, has given the company an initial valuation of US$500 million.

Vinay Gupta, co-founder and CEO of ORN Group, expressed confidence that the alliance would help TAG expand its presence in North America. “Our cutting-edge technology will simplify the booking process for TAG and enhance their customers’ experiences in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific,” Gupta said. “We look forward to working with TAG to expand their offerings in Africa, Asia, and Europe, building on the strong distribution network that Kirk and his team have developed over the years.”
