Throughgood Bistro has officially opened at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), bringing a new dining experience to travelers. Located in the Ticketing Lobby, the bistro offers a menu inspired by Houston’s local cuisine, with a focus on paninis, salads, and sandwiches. Each dish is infused with a touch of the city’s vibrant culinary scene. The bistro also features a full bar, offering a selection of craft beverages from local breweries and Texas-based distilleries, allowing guests to enjoy a taste of Houston’s unique culture.
The bistro provides a casual, welcoming atmosphere, where guests can order at the counter and choose from a variety of seating options. Travelers can either sit down and relax or grab a drink at the bar before their flight.
A Focus on Community Impact
What sets Throughgood Bistro apart is its commitment to giving back to the Houston community. Pastor Rudy Rasmus of St. John’s Church, who also owns Throughgood Coffee, has partnered with Areas HOU, a prominent concessions operator, to launch this dining initiative. Throughgood Bistro’s mission goes beyond serving food—it’s about making a positive impact.
All proceeds from the bistro benefit the Bread of Life Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals in Houston. Every meal purchased contributes to local social causes, allowing travelers to support their community with every bite. Pastor Rudy Rasmus aims to address homelessness through this project, using it as a platform for social change.
“We’re proud to work with Rudy Rasmus to support the Bread of Life Foundation’s important work and collaborate with local businesses through Throughgood Bistro,” said Sal Mendola, director of brands & concept development at Areas USA. “This partnership reflects our commitment to hospitality and our shared goal to help end homelessness in Houston.”
