Radisson Hotel Group is boosting its presence in the Iberian Peninsula with a series of new hotel openings and strategic upgrades in Spain and Portugal. The hospitality leader is set to launch Radisson RED Malaga and a fully renovated Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife in Spain. In Portugal, the Group will introduce Radisson RED Porto Gaia and invest heavily in refurbishing the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lisbon, by 2025.
This expansion is part of Radisson’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in key tourism and business hubs across Iberia. With over 10 properties already operating or in development in the region, the Group is focusing on both urban and leisure destinations to meet growing demand.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, stated, “These new additions mark a significant step in our strategy to expand our footprint in Iberia. Our success is built on the trust of our owners and the appeal of our brands. We are committed to delivering attractive investment opportunities for our partners and unforgettable experiences for our guests.”
Radisson RED Malaga: A Modern Touch to Spain’s Cultural Gem
Radisson RED Malaga, set to open in Q2 2027, will bring a vibrant and contemporary hospitality experience to one of Spain’s most popular cultural destinations. Known for its rich history, art, and Mediterranean charm, Malaga is an ideal location for the Radisson RED brand, which emphasizes modern, energetic design.
The 102-room hotel will feature stylish accommodations, including superior rooms with views of picturesque courtyards and lively Trinidad Street. Guests can enjoy a ground-floor restaurant and bar, as well as a rooftop bar and pool offering stunning views of Malaga’s historic skyline. The hotel will also cater to business and event travelers with a 100m² multifunctional space, while a 110m² fitness and wellness area will provide relaxation options.
Located just a short walk from Plaza de la Constitución, the city’s historic center, Radisson RED Malaga aims to redefine the local hotel scene with its modern lifestyle offerings.
Omer Crystal, CEO and Managing Partner of White Spain, commented, “After a thorough analysis of Malaga’s hospitality needs and a competitive selection process, we are thrilled to bring Radisson RED to the city. Out of 18 proposals, Radisson RED stood out as the ideal partner to elevate Malaga’s tourism industry. This hotel will set new standards for quality and innovation, create jobs, and boost the local economy, contributing to Malaga’s promising future.”
