Interest in Beyoncé’s upcoming London performances has led to a significant spike in flight searches to the UK capital, according to travel company eDreams Odigeo. Searches for flights to London rose by as much as 49% following the announcement of the US singer’s summer tour dates.
The global superstar is set to perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 5, 7, 10, and 12 as part of her Cowboy Carter tour. Her dedicated fanbase, known as the Beyhive, has driven a surge in travel interest, particularly from the US, which accounted for 25% of the flight searches.
The most popular travel dates coincide with Beyoncé’s performances, with June 7 seeing a 49% increase in searches, followed by June 5 (up 48%) and June 10 (up 26%). These figures compare searches made between February 3—when the tour dates were announced—and February 12, against the same period last year.
This trend mirrors the impact of last year’s Taylor Swift concerts, which also saw a sharp rise in travel searches. For example, searches for Edinburgh and Liverpool more than doubled during Swift’s performance dates in June 2023.
The phenomenon isn’t limited to Beyoncé. Hotel demand in the UK also surged after Oasis announced their reunion tour for this summer, highlighting the growing influence of music tourism on travel patterns.
Pablo Caspers, Chief Travel Officer at eDreams Odigeo, commented: “It’s fascinating to see how global artists are inspiring travel to concert destinations worldwide. Beyoncé’s loyal fans have confirmed this trend, with searches for London increasing by up to 49% due to her latest tour. Today’s travelers are increasingly looking for choice, flexibility, and cost savings while chasing premium experiences to follow their favorite artists.”
The data underscores the powerful connection between major music events and travel demand, as fans worldwide are willing to cross borders to see their idols perform.
