Travellers Choice has welcomed two new members to its network: Selah, a Victorian-based agency, and Sports Travel Australia. This move strengthens the network’s ongoing growth and diversification.
Selah: Catering to Spiritual and Christian Travel
Founded in 2006, Selah specializes in travel services for Christian missionaries. Over time, it expanded to offer pilgrimage tours to Israel and Palestine for Christian travelers. However, the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas forced the agency to rethink its focus.
Founder Lisa Tarzia explained that the company shifted its strategy to include spiritually themed leisure tours. “We’ve developed itineraries with a spiritual connection,” she said. “Some, like the Camino pilgrimage in Spain, are directly tied to Christianity. Others, like Antarctica, offer a sense of creation and wonder, even though it’s not a biblical destination.”
This pivot has unlocked new growth opportunities, prompting Tarzia to join Travellers Choice. With nearly 40 years of travel industry experience, Tarzia values the network’s support. “Running a business can be lonely, especially with a remote team,” she said. “Travellers Choice took the time to understand my business and offers personalized interaction that stands out.”
Sports Travel Australia: Expanding Beyond School Sports
Established in 2015, Sports Travel Australia organizes overseas group tours for school-age athletes competing in cross-country and track and field events. Karen Morham, a seasoned sports coach, joined the company after her son traveled with them to Canada. She took over the business in 2022 when the founder retired.
Morham now plans to broaden the agency’s offerings beyond school sports. “I want to include traditional leisure products like cruises and FIT itineraries,” she said. “Since my background isn’t in travel, I need support in business development and marketing. Travellers Choice aligns perfectly with my goal of delivering excellent customer service.”
Tailored Membership Solutions
Travellers Choice offers three membership tiers—Activate, Elevate, and Accelerate—each providing varying levels of business services and financial benefits tailored to members’ needs. Both Selah and Sports Travel Australia have joined as Activate members, with the flexibility to upgrade as their businesses grow.
This expansion highlights Travellers Choice’s commitment to supporting specialized travel agencies while fostering a collaborative network for growth and innovation.
