Virgin Atlantic and WestJet are expanding their codeshare partnership, effective from March 30, 2025. This move will coincide with Virgin Atlantic’s new route between London Heathrow and Toronto Pearson. The expanded agreement aims to improve travel connections between the UK and 13 cities in Canada, including Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Ottawa.
Key highlights of the expansion include:
- Seamless connections through Toronto Pearson (YYZ) without the need for baggage re-checks
- The convenience of booking all flights on a single ticket
- Loyalty program benefits set to launch later in 2025
This marks Virgin Atlantic’s return to Canada after over a decade, with Toronto becoming a central hub for travelers connecting to destinations like India, Dubai, South Africa, and the Maldives through London.
Virgin Atlantic’s Executive Vice President, Juha Jarvinen, noted the increasing demand for travel between Canada, the UK, and India. WestJet’s John Weatherill highlighted the advantages of simplified travel and greater options for passenger.
