On Monday afternoon, Oswego Mayor Robert A. Corradino issued a Travel Advisory for the city due to severe weather conditions expected in the coming days.
The advisory was issued in response to forecasted high winds, blowing snow, and poor visibility.
“We expect very cold temperatures, strong winds, and snow over the next 48 hours, which could result in zero visibility,” Mayor Corradino said in a statement. “For the safety of our residents and workers, we recommend avoiding unnecessary travel, especially during times when the lake-effect snow is hitting the city.”
Mayor Corradino referred to the weather as a “dynamic situation” and praised the Department of Public Works (DPW) for their efforts in snow removal.
He also urged residents to keep their vehicles off the streets to help DPW crews clear snow more efficiently.
