Pacheco added, “Miami, San Juan, and soon New York are key tourism markets. Launching U.S. operations from these cities is a major step toward establishing the Dominican Republic as a leading travel hub in the Americas. These new routes will not only boost regional tourism but also make it easier for travelers to explore our country and connect to neighboring Caribbean islands, as well as Central and South America.”

The economic impact of Arajet’s expansion is already being celebrated. Puerto Rico Governor González Colón highlighted the significance of the new routes, stating, “Arajet’s operations between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico are expected to generate an estimated $10.4 million in economic impact. The addition of approximately 58,000 new seats will also attract more international visitors to the region.”

Governor González Colón emphasized the importance of collaboration, adding, “The Government of Puerto Rico is committed to supporting airlines that enhance air connectivity and market competitiveness. We are dedicated to working closely with the Dominican Republic to grow tourism and strengthen our regional ties.”

Arajet’s U.S. expansion marks a significant milestone for the airline and the Dominican Republic, positioning the country as a central hub for travel across the Americas.
