Hong Kong is embracing the future of transportation with the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV), signaling a growing trend towards efficient SUVs and smart car technology. DEEPAL S07, a collaboration between DCH Motors and Changan Automobile, will debut at the auto show held at Taichung Super Mall from February 22 to 23. The model highlights the shift towards environmentally friendly and smart mobility, with plans to launch nine more models globally over the next three years.
“Automotive electrification is a key direction for the future,” said a spokesperson for Changan’s Southeast Asia business unit. “DEEPAL S07 uses advanced new energy technology to reduce carbon emissions, supporting global sustainable development goals.”
DEEPAL S07 targets environmentally conscious drivers who seek luxury and smart driving features. The car has a stylish design with a yacht-inspired interior featuring a panoramic sunroof, electric sunshades, a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a premium 14-speaker sound system. Hong Kong actress Wong Soo-yin, who described driving as “my own time”, praised the car’s comfort, saying the seats are like a “warm hug”, making the S07 a great choice for drivers.
“For those who value sustainability and practicality, the DEEPAL S07’s spacious cabin, smart safety features and long driving range make it a perfect choice for daily commuting and family travel,” added Huang Xiuyan.
The same sentiment was echoed by Dah Chong Hong Group CEO, Poon Chi Keung, who said: “The S07’s luxurious design and efficient energy management system make it stand out from its peers.”
The S07 is available in two versions with a wide range of features: the standard version is priced at HK$248,880 and the long version is priced at HK$266,880. Early bird buyers can enjoy discounts of up to HK$16,000. The car can meet a variety of driving needs from daily commuting to long-distance travel.
Dah Chong Auto’s collaboration with Changan Automobile, which has 163 years of industry experience, has played an important role in promoting automotive innovation. The success of the S07 is already evident, having been named Thailand’s best-selling pure electric vehicle (BEV) in April 2024.
The launch marks a new era for luxury electric vehicles in Hong Kong, blending sustainability, cutting-edge technology and premium comfort for drivers.
